Custom Furniture for a Canadian Home: Our Experience Working with Rachna
Every custom furniture project is different. When a customer is furnishing an entire home, the challenge is not simply producing individual pieces of furniture. It is about understanding the customer’s lifestyle, space, materials, colors, dimensions and expectations, and then turning all of those requirements into a complete and practical furniture solution.
Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Rachna from Canada on a large custom furniture project. She needed an American-style velvet sofa, oak dining table and chairs, an oak TV cabinet, marble side tables, an oak bed, oak nightstands, a bedroom bench, a chest of drawers, a vanity chair, a swivel lounge chair, shelving units and electric curtains.

From Materials to Dimensions: Understanding Every Detail
At the beginning of the project, we communicated with Rachna in detail about every important aspect of the furniture. We discussed materials, dimensions, colors, styles, functional requirements and the overall coordination between different pieces.

There is a significant time difference between Canada and China. When it is morning in Canada, it is already evening in China.
Because this was an important custom furniture project, we did not want the time difference to become a communication barrier. To make things easier for Rachna, we regularly discussed product details with her during our evening hours in China.
We believe that custom furniture requires patience and careful communication. Before production starts, every important detail should be confirmed clearly.
Working with Natural Materials: Marble, Cotton-Linen and Velvet
Material selection was an important part of Rachna’s project. Different materials were selected according to the function and style of each piece, including natural marble, cotton-linen fabrics and soft velvet upholstery.

After confirming the furniture requirements, we prepared a DDP door-to-door quotation for Rachna.
She did not need to worry about the complicated logistics process. We handled the entire process from our side, including:

At the beginning, Rachna naturally had some concerns. This was her first time working with a Chinese furniture supplier, and the order involved a significant investment. We completely understood why she wanted to be careful.
Instead of simply asking her to trust us, we preferred to show her what we could do. We shared photos and videos from previous custom furniture projects so she could see our products, materials, production processes and finished furniture.
Whenever she had questions, we tried to respond as quickly as possible. We believe that trust is not created by promises. It is built through communication and action.
Professional Advice Can Make a Big Difference
Rachna originally had her own idea about the sofa dimensions. However, after carefully reviewing the proportions, we noticed that the original size combination was not ideal.
The sofa could technically be manufactured according to those dimensions, but we believed that the proportions would look unusual once the furniture was placed in the room. We suggested adjusting the dimensions based on our experience with furniture proportions and production design.
After discussing the change with Rachna, she agreed. In the end, she was very happy with the adjustment and felt that the revised sofa proportions were much more suitable for her space.
Keeping the Customer Updated During Production
Once all the details were confirmed, production began. For a large custom furniture order, we understand that customers may feel anxious while waiting, especially when the furniture is being manufactured thousands of kilometers away.
We therefore regularly updated Rachna about production progress. When the basic furniture frames and unfinished pieces were completed, we took photos and sent them to her. When the furniture was completely finished, we also took additional photos and videos so she could inspect the final products before shipment.
These updates allowed Rachna to see the progress of her furniture rather than simply waiting without information.

From Factory to Her Home: We Followed the Shipment
After production was completed, we carefully prepared and packed the furniture for international transportation. We then continued to follow the shipment status and provide updates to Rachna during transportation.
International logistics can sometimes take longer than originally expected. Fortunately, Rachna was very understanding when the transportation took a little longer than expected. Her patience and understanding really meant a lot to us.
50 Days of Production and Around 60 Days for the Complete Process
The furniture production itself took approximately 50 days. After including logistics, customs procedures, international transportation and final delivery, the complete process took around 60 days.
When the furniture finally arrived, most of the pieces were delivered in a ready-to-use or largely assembled condition. This made installation much easier and more convenient for Rachna.
Her Feedback Made Everything Worthwhile
After waiting through production and transportation, Rachna finally received her custom furniture. She was very happy with the overall result and particularly satisfied with the quality of the furniture.
The dimensions and colors were also very close to what she expected, including the sofa adjustment we had recommended during the design stage.
Rachna was also kind enough to take many photos of the furniture and share her feedback with us.
